This is an original 1923 halftone print of Pharaoh Thothmes IV and Tiaa, his queen. It was carved from black granite and is now a treasured artifact in the Cairo Museum. The coiffure of the queen calls for special notice. The statue of the king, believed to be a good portrait shows a powerfully built man in the full vigor of his youth. On his head is the royal uræus, and around his loins is the shenti, kept in place by a buckled belt.
