This is an original 1923 halftone print of of a black and white image depicting a fountain in the ruined city of Pompeii, which was beautiful and bright as a result from their use of mosaic and the truly temperate climate it was built in. This particular fountain was one of the finest fountains in all of Pompeii, and is left in its original position. Photography by Donald McLeish.
