This is an original 1925 color cover for The Youth's Companion magazine, June 4, 1925, that features an illustration by Stanley Massey Arthurs (1877-1950) that depicts bookseller and editor John Campbell (1653-1728), taking the first copy of The Boston News-Letter "hot off" the press of printer Bartholomew Green Jr. (1701-1751), and giving it to Judge Samuel Sewall (1652-1730), chief justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court of Judicature. The Boston News-Letter was the first continuously published newspaper in British North America. The paper also reported on the death of the infamous pirate captain Edward Teach, (aka Blackbeard) in 1718.
