This is an original 1927 halftone print of a pencil drawing of the Bear Gates at the Traquair House near Peebles in Scotland. It is the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland and has a royalty-based history. Today, the Traquair House is open to the public, however, the Bear Gates that were closed in 1745 by the Jacobite army will not be reopened until a Stuart once again sits on the Scottish Throne. This print features artwork by English landscape artist, writer and illustrator Gordon Home.
