This is an original 1930 black and white halftone print of the Madonna Statue in the Memorial Church of Grand-Pré which is located in Nova Scotia, Canada. This church is a memorial to the Acadian men and boys who were read the deportation order on September 5, 1755. They and their families were then held captive for a month by British troops until the ships arrived to transport them to their new homes across the British colonies.
