This is a small original 1931 black and white print ad for the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall Hotel located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The hotel was built by Elisha and Elizabeth Roberts in 1868 under the name, the Chalfonte House. In 1890, the Chalfonte House was sold to Leeds & Lippincott, and was name, Chalfonte-Haddon Hall. In 1944, this hotel was requisitioned by the US Military and used as a military facility, during World War II. The Chalfonte-Haddon was renamed the Thomas England General Hospital and was used as the Atlantic City Air Forces Training & Reception Center Hospital . The Chalfonte building was left vacant and finally demolished in 1980 to make room for a parking lot for the Resorts International, which was later renamed the Resorts Casino Hotel. This resort site was originally occupied by the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall Hotel. The Resorts Casino Hotel , a hotel and casino, is located at 133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ.
