This is an original 1931 two-color collotype of a late medieval piece which is attributed to Italian artist Barna of Siena. It depicts Christ carrying his cross down the Via Dolorosa as he heads to the place of his execution. A disproportionate figure looks up at him from below, a testament to the common medieval practice of making the central figure larger than all others.
