This is an original 1931 two-color collotype of detail from the
Maestrà altarpiece, which was originally painted by Italian medieval artist Ducci Di Buoninsegna and hung in the Siena Cathedral in Italy for centuries. This panel depicts the carrying out of Herod's orders to slay all the male infants shortly after the birth of Jesus. Luckily, his family had already fled for Egypt, and were spared.
