Claude Monet

Claude Monet (1840-1926) was a world famous Parisian impressionist artist and painter. He received his formal art education at La Havre Secondary School of the Arts, as well as at the Academie Suisse. He also studied under Jacques-Francois Ochard, Charles Gleyre and Eugene Boudin. Monet was perhaps most recognized for his charcoal caricatures, studies of light, landscapes, figures, historic landmarks and seascapes. His art has been exhibited at the Galerie Durand-Ruel, the Musee Marmottan Monet, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, the Pushkin Museum of Moskow and more. Today, MonetÕs more famous paintings have been purchased from anywhere between $20 million and $80 million.
