This is an original 1934 black and white halftone print of Russian women working in a Prophylactoria. These factories were used for "the reclamation" of prostitutes. The prostitutes would come voluntarily to become resident workers of the facility that served to treat sexual venereal diseases. After all, most prostitutes have more first hand experience with such diseases than most scientists.
