This is an original 1937 black and white collotype of cisterns cut from the rock surrounding a fort in the city of Tzippori which is also known as Sepphoris, Dioceserea, and Saffuriya and is located in the central Galilee region of modern day Israel. These cisterns stored water and possibly oil and wine.
