This is an original 1937 black and white collotype of a medieval fort which was partially constructed from Roman sarcophagi filled with rubble. This building was constructed during the Crusades (around 1200 AD) using pieces of older buildings and sarcophagi. We believe this building is located in the city of Tzippori which is also known as Sepphoris, Dioceserea, and Saffuriya and is located in the central Galilee region of modern day Israel.
