This is an original 1938 black and white photogravure of Italian Quattrocento artist Cosimo Tura's Pietà. A striking piece, it's immediately clear that it was from the awkward transition between Medieval art and that of the Renaissance. The poses are beautiful, however the figures are disproportionate.
