This is an original 1938 black and white photogravure of a piece by Sienan artist Stefano di Giovanni di Consolo, better known as Sassetta. The Sienans used a different style of painting than their Florentine counterparts, with more rigid figures and less focus on the natural and more on the mystical. Here we see S. Anthony the Abbot devoting himself to the lord's service.
