This is an original 1939 black and white photogravure that depicts Saint Giles performing Mass in the Abbey Church of Saint-Denis. It was originally painted by the mysterious Franco-Flemish painter known as the Master of St. Giles in a Late Gothic manner very reminiscent of Netherlandish works during that time.
