This is an original 1941 black and white photogravure of the dome of L'Hôtel national des Invalides (The National Residence of the Invalids) which is located in the city of Paris, France. It was originally a retirement home for war veterans, but it now houses several museums and is the burial site of Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French.

Geyer, Harold C.

Harold C. Geyer (1905 - ?) was born in Cold Springs, New York, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Yale University in in 1930. A few years later, he traveled to France in order to study medieval architecture and created many illustrations of the places he found and came to love in that country.
