This is an original 1941 black and white photogravure of neighborhood in the beautiful Paris, France. Paris is the largest city in France and is situated on the river Seine. Many believe that the area around Paris has been settled since around 4200 BC with a permanent settlement begun by the Romans when they conquered the area in 52 BC.

Geyer, Harold C.
Harold C. Geyer (1905 - ?) was born in Cold Springs, New York, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Yale University in in 1930. A few years later, he traveled to France in order to study medieval architecture and created many illustrations of the places he found and came to love in that country.
