This is an original 1941 color print of the destruction of a city in London, England after bombs landed during World War II. In the beginning of the war, targets were set based on military function, but between 1939 and 1942, the policy was slowly abandoned, and bombs were sent down on civilians and city infrastructure. Photography by William Vandivert.
