This is an original 1944 color photolithograph of an Axis air attack on Allied defenses on the Island of Corsica in the Mediterranean during WWII. The Flak Cannon was by far the most effective way of combatting air attacks, as they loaded the air with debris and fragments, which could rip planes apart, get caught in engines, kill pilots, and set planes on fire with ease.
