A Philadelphia native, Sergeant Albert Gold studied under Franklin Watkins at the School of Industrial Art. His works have been exhibited at the University of Pennsylvania, the Metropolitan Museum in New York City, as well as at a variety of large museums. He served with the Armed Forces in Great Britain, and was one of few men commissioned by the United States Army to illustrate battlefield war scenes.
