1945 Print Ceremony Franco-American Institute Nancy France Lieutenant CON1

This is an original 1945 halftone with a section of color print of the dedication ceremony at the Franco-American Institute of Nancy, France. Speakers included Lieutenant General Jacob L. Devers, Major General Arthur R. Wilson, Monsieur Benn, Rector of the University of Nancy and Monsieur Bouchard, Co-Director of the Institute. Notable people present included Monsieur Paul Chailley-Bert, Lieutenant General Alexander M. Patch, Brigadier General Ralph M. Immell and Colonel Granval.

"Conad History" (Continental Advance) was created to preserve the history of the United States Army supply forces, and to provide a basis for future studies by the United States War Department. The book covered the continental advance, communications zones, the European theater of operations, and the United States Army during 1944 and 1945. The Conad staff began in Africa and traveled to central Europe where they finished.
