1945 Print Mining Geology United State Steel Trout Lake Plant Mesabi Range FZ7

This is an original 1945 halftone print of a worker at the U. S. Steel Trout Lake plant on the Mesabi Range. The man seen in the foreground is pulling out oversized rocks that might hurt the machinery. The Mesabi pit is the largest of four iron ranges in Minnesota. It was discovered in 1866, and is still being mined today.
