This is an original 1950 black and white print ad for Douglas air transport. This is notable because the Douglas Aircraft Company was not known for their passenger aircrafts. The majority of their business was in military aircrafts, however, post World War II, they started producing the Douglas DC-8 to compete with the Boeing 707. In 1967 Douglas Aircraft Company was forced to merge with the McDonnel Aircraft Corporation which would eventually merge with Boeing.
