Tiziano Vecelli (Titian)

Tiziano Vecelli (Titian) (?-1576) was an Italian Renaissance painter native to Pieve di Cadore, Venice, Italy. To date, Titian remains one of the most versatile Italian painters to ever grace the art scene. His works primarily focused on portraits (usually of famous figures, including royalty, artists, writers and religious figures), landscapes, religion and mythological subjects. TitianÕs art has been held at the Louvre, the Vatican Museum, the Morosini Palace, the convent of Saint Andrea, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, the Carmelite Church, the Scuola del Santo, the National Gallery in London, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Prado, DogeÕs Palace, the Church of San Domenico in Ancona and many more. Later in his life, Titian worked for Philip II as a portrait painter. Today, TitianÕs paintings are sold for millions of dollars.
