This is an original 1967 black and white linocut of "Pay Day" by William E. Smith.

A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Smith studied at the Cleveland School of Art in Ohio, the John Huntington Polytechnical Art Institute, Harold Cooper's School Advertising Art in Cleveland, Ohio and at the Chinuard Art Institute. His works have been exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the National Academy of Design in New York, the Oakland Art Gallery, the Library of Congress, the Pennsylvania Academy of Art, the Denver Museum, Atlanta University, the Glendale Library, Howard University, the Tower Gallery Los Angeles City Hall, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts and others.
