This is an original 1872 black and white in-text wood engraving of the winemaking town of Bingen, Germany. Part of the southern border of the Rhine Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has several historical landmarks, two of which can be seen here-- the basilica of St. Martins in the foreground and Klopps castle in the distance.
