This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Noctuae family, including; the Anthoecia cardui, (Fig. 1), the Apamea zeta, (Fig. 2), the Heliodes theophila, (Fig. 3), the Hadena sommeri, (Fig. 4), the Omia cymbalariae, (Fig. 5), the Beautiful Yellow Underwing, Anarta myrtilli, (Fig. 6), the Eurhipia adulatrix, (Fig. 7, a-b), the Xanthodes malvae, (Fig. 8), the Yellow Drab, Pardoxia graellsii, (Fig. 9, a-b), and another of the Apamea zeta, (Fig. 10).
