This is an original 1984 color print of four rails: the Dusky Moorhen (top), native to Indonesia, New Guinea, and Australia; the Island Cock (upper left, head only), found on the South Atlantic islands of Tristan da Cunha and Gough; the Common Gallinule (lower right), also called a moorhen; and the Lesser Moorhen (lower left), found in Africa, south of the Sahara.
Period Paper is pleased to offer a group of lovely color prints of birds of the family Rallidae. Commonly called rails, they are small-to-medium sized birds which are mostly associated with marshes or wetland habitats.
