This is an original 1899 black and white photogravure of Louis XIV (1638-1715) who ruled as the King of France from 1661. The King is pictured with his mother. He is known for having the longest reign of any European monarch, having ruled for 72 years and 110 days. He is also known as the Sun King and Louis the Great.
