This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of an aerial view of America's capitol in Washington, D. C. Also shown in the image is New York Avenue, the Columbia Institution for Deaf and Dumb, Graceland Cemetery, Union Station, the city post office, Capitol Street, Hotel Continental, Hotel Driscoll, the Bartholdi Fountain, the Grant Memorial, the Library of Congress, the House office Building, and Maryland Avenue as well as various others. The capitol building design was modeled after William Thornton's composition, after winning a design competition in the spring of 1793.
