This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the German battleship Bluecher sinking in the North Sea. The bottom image shows a British vessel after being destroyed by a floating mine. The caption writes, "British vessel destroyed by striking a floating mine in the North Sea. The explosion set fire to her and soon she was a mass of flames from stern to stern. Some of her crew escaped in the vessel's own lifeboats and others were rescued by the boats of other ships that happened to be in the vicinity. The North Sea was thickly strewn with mines."
