This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a destroyed tree during World War I. The caption writes, "Stark, ghastly skeletons of trees in the heart of the battle zone, stripped of leaves and bark and branches, pitted by bullets and shattered by shell, mute witnesses of the outrages inflicted on nature by the hatreds of men."

This 89+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Light aging throughout. Minor print defect - right side. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is print on the reverse.
