This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of American troops entering Coblenz, Germany (Deutschland). Also shown are American troops marching across the Moselle River on December 1, 1918. Seen in the background is the town of Gravenmacher, Luxembourg. The caption for the top image writes, "American battalion on parade in Coblenz, Germany, the bridgehead held by the American army of occupation. By the spring of 1922 most of the troops had been recalled, leaving only a nominal force of a few thousands."
