This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the American unknown soldier on the way to his burial in Arlington National Cemetery. The caption writes, "Immense throngs lined the route, the men standing with bared heads, as the caisson bearing the body of the 'unknown soldier,' and followed on foot by the most eminent men in the nation, slowly wound its way to the 'unknown's' last resting place."
