This is an original 1927 tipped-in Blackmore Tintex color print of a colored aquatint painted by British artist Charles B. Newhouse and engraved by J. Harris titled, "Under Weigh Without a Pilot." The original artwork had first been published in 1836.

This collection of tipped-in color prints employed a Blackmore Tintex Printing technique, which, at the time, served as a precursor to offset lithography. The method was revolutionary in the color printing industry and produced quality art prints that closely resembled the time and labor-intensive technique of hand colored stone lithographs.
