This is an original 1963 color print by Rafael Montes de Oca of two members of the Thaumatias Brevirostris, more commonly known as the Short Billed Emerald Hummingbird. The featured orchid is Epidendrum nemorale, known as the Rough Stemmed Encyclia, grows in the Mexican states of Mexico, Guerrero, Michoacan, and further northwest. It flowers in March and April.
