1886 Wood Engraving Horatii Curiatii Monument Rome Alba Longa War Italy XGHC6

This is an original 1886 black and white in-text wood engraving of the monument of the Horatii and Curiatii. The Horatii were male triplets from Rome. It was decided that the settlement of a war would be decided by a battle between the Horatii triplets and the Curiatii triplets whow were from Alba Longa. In the end, two of the Horatii died but the remaining one was able to separate the Curiatii brothers from each other and kill then one by one.

This 125+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. No creases. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note: There is printing on the verso. Please also note that there are a few small dark spots in the margins.
