This is an original 1887 black and white wood engraving of the Impatiens balsamina, also known as Garden Balsam, Garden Jewelweed, Rose Balsam, and Touch-Me-Not, that is native to India and Burma in south Asia. The leaves of the plant have several medicinal uses and are used to treat warts, snakebites, burns, and other ailments.
