This is an original 1870 lithograph that shows architectural elements of French and English church sculpture including: Female Figure from the Cathedral of Chartres; Mary and the High Priest from the Cathedral of Amiens; Statues and Relief from the Cathedral of Rheims, The Death of Mary, Relief from the Strasburg Minster; Monument of Robert Duke of Normandy; Tombs of King Henry III of England, and Queen Eleanor; and Tomb of a Knight and his Lady.

This lithograph is from a collection detailing the history and beauty of architecture from prehistoric times through the 1800s. Due to the heavy stock of the paper, the original plate emboss can still be viewed in the margins of most lithographsÑa rare and highly desirable feature of this art. Our digital capture process enhances the visibility and tone of the foxing; however, in the original pieces the foxing, especially along the edges, is less pronounced. Virtually all foxing is restricted to the outermost margin and would be eliminated when framed.
