This is an original 1924 halftone print of Mme. Simone, the French actress and wife of Francois Porche. The caption writes, "[Simone] has returned to America at the invitation of A. H. Woods to play the leading role in Samuel Ruskin Golding's new play, "Open House." This is perhaps the first instance on record that a foreign artiste has been imported to impersonate an American heroine."
