He began his career as a stage actor and went on to become one of the leading men of the silent screen era. Among his movies are: "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine" (1916), "Male and Female" (1919), "The Miracle Man" (1919), "The New Klondike" (1926), "We're All Gamblers" (1927), and "Peck's Bad Boy" (1934).
