This is an original 1902 black and white halftone print of "The Royal Opera House." The Valletta Royal Opera house was a performing arts and opera house designed by Edward Middleton Barry and erected in 1866. The structure suffered a fire in 1873, being restored in 1877. The structure then suffered permanent damage in 1942 during the aerial bombing of the Luftwaffe during World War II.
