Levi Heywood was one of five brothers who established a furniture company in 1826 in Gardner, Massachusetts, named Heywood Brothers which created mostly wicker and rattan furniture. Eventually, this company merged with the Wakefield Company and became the Heywood Brothers & Wakefield Company in 1897. By 1921, it was known as the Heywood-Wakefield Company. Furniture from this company is considered to be very collectible.
