This collection spans the four decade career of David Lance Goines (1945-Present). These color prints from 1978 promote restaurants, Guinness beer, India Ink, Velo-Sport Bicycles and various other businesses in an Art Deco and Art Nouveau style.
Over his career, Goines has created over 200 posters for various causes, hitting a peak in popularity in the 1970s and 1980s. He uses tertiary pastels in his work, which he explains is reminiscent of the Bay Area color palette and the long summers of fog and soft colors. During his peak, Goines would create up to 12 posters a year. Today, he creates 3 or 4.
