The caption writes, "Some eight hundred years ago when the Daimyo returned from his yearly visit to the Tokogawa Shogunate, he would bring with him, as his most valued gift, lengths of cloth woven from the Honeysuckle vine, which grows wild on the hillsides of Japan. This cloth was used by the Samurai for their Ceremonial dress..."
