This is an original 1911 halftone print featuring Allerton S. Cushman, an iron chemist, mining engineer and metallurgist. He joined Dr. Wiley's staff in the Bureau of Chemistry, U. S. Department of Agriculture, and was Assistant Director of the Office of Public Roads in charge of Physical and Chemical Investigation. Cushman was also the President and Director of the Institute of Industrial Research at Washington.
