This is an original 1955 duotone rotogravure of jeweller in his shop in Jaipur in the Marwar (Jodhpur) region of southwestern Rajasthan in western India. He has painted a sectarian mark on his forehead to indicate that he is a worshipper of the Hindu deity Vishnu. He is known as a Vaishnava.
