This is an original 1895 black and white steel engraving of a portrait of the founder of the University School of Milwaukee (formerly the German English Academy) Mr. Peter Engelmann. Engelmann also founded the Wisconsin Natural History Society. In 1882, the society's collection was moved to the Milwaukee Pubic Museum.
