This is an original 1855 black and white wood engraving of Mathilde Laetitia Wilhelmine Bonaparte, Princess Francaise (1820-1904) who was a daughter of Napoleon's brother Jérôme Bonaparte. She was at one time engaged to her first cousin, future Napoleon III of France, but that fell through when he was imprisoned. She later married a rich Russian tycoon.
