This is an original 1936 halftone print of women at the Beatrice Creamery Company pushing ice cream into Cellophane tubes. The tubes could then be easily frozen, and the customer could slice off the amount of ice cream they wanted to enjoy.

Beatrice Creamery was founded in 1891 in Beatrice, Nebraska, and was a seller of butter, milk and eggs. The company moved to Chicago in 1913, and in the late 1930s, was producing 30 million gallons of milk and 10 million gallons of ice cream per year. The name Beatrice Creamery was changed to Beatrice Foods, and between the mid 40s and mid 50s, saw a huge boost in sales due to the milk need from the baby-boomers. The company was acquired by ConAgra Foods in the 1990s.
